Gnosticism is a religious movement that was widespread during the time of christ. The word gnosis mean to know. gnosticism was a philosophical system that was built on greek philosophy. they try to promote a spereation between the materialistic and the spiritual world. this connect back to matrix and the allegory of the cave because in the matrix there was two different worlds that they were in the virtual world and the real world. and in allegory of the cave there was the world where plato was trying to enlighten human with philosophy.

Allegory of the cave is translated to the Myth of the Cave. The allegory is one of the greek philospher Plato most well known works. Later socrates interpreted into different volumes it was mention it Vol. 7. Socrates himself interprets the allegory (beginning at 517b): "This image then [the allegory of the cave] we must apply as a whole to all that has been said. (wikipedia). the allegory is where humans are depicted as being imprisoned by their bodies and what they preceive by sight only. in the allegory of the cave, plato tells what would happen if people were to become enlighten by philosophy? the allegory of the cave is about a man being chain in a cave where he watches the shadow on the wall. plato was trying to represent the metaphor for the state of human existence. this connects with the matrix because there was another world known as "the real world" in the matrix. in the matrix there was another world where they battle and they try to find the one by letting him choose what side he wanted by showing him. just like in plato work he triesto tell human that there is another world that we are scared of the truth.

Heyy... My first impression or opinion on the matrix is that it was a very unique movie. hard to follow but after watchin it the second time i understand it alot more. The Matrix is a 1999 science fiction action film, starring keanu reeves. the movie is about a post of the apolocalyptic world where humanities is ruled by machines and humans fight for there survival. there is the world that they know is a lie. so they get this guy that goes by the name Neo. While at the same time the agents (known as machine minions od destruction), and other human surviviors are after him. the human surviviors get to him first and try to convince him to join the group and fight for their lives. they let him choose from a red pill and blue pill. one of the pills will get into the matrix and the other one will make him forget everything that has happen and let him live his life. blah blah blah..... he fights and saves the world while discovering that he is the ONE...
